About

I’m an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor working with individual adults in Brighton, Hove and Lewes.  I also work online.

As a BACP registered therapist, I aim to provide clients with a space where you feel heard, as we explore and come to understand what's been going on for you.  While also uncovering underlying issues and, through a developing self-awareness and a shifting perspective, help you find new meaning as you begin a process of change.

About

How I see psychotherapy

I see psychotherapy and counselling as offering clients a confidential space to step aside from everyday life where we explore difficulties together with curiosity and compassion.  This gives you the space to be seen and heard, perhaps for the first time.

Through this process, we begin to understand your emotional reactions and behavioural patterns - such as getting angry, frustrated, scared, withdrawing or self-criticising - as you begin to build a new self-awareness.

If your concern is the loss of meaning or direction in life, we'll come to understand this loss and its impact on you, as we uncover what is important to you now and find new ways of connecting.

These new ways of understanding and responding to previously difficult issues or relationships aim to enable you to live more fully and meaningfully.

How early relational patterns dictate our adult relationships

My latest blog explores how relational patterns learned in our first years of life can powerfully influence our adult relationships and yet be hidden from us.

Free phone consultation

The first step is for us to have a chat.  I offer a 30 minute free phone consultation where we'll discuss what issues bring you to psychotherapy, I can answer any questions you may have and you'll get a sense if working with me feels right.  We'll then discuss possible options moving forwards.
